Review: Sixty Acres And A Bride

When newly widowed Rosa Garner returns to Texas with her mother-in-law, she hopes to start a new life at the family ranch.  Instead, she finds herself facing eviction due to back taxes the family can't hope to pay.  To what lengths will Rosa go to save the family home?

Regina Jennings's Sixty Acres and a Bride (Bethany House Publishers, 2012) is an absolutely marvelous read.  Rich in historical detail, humor, and heartfelt romance, Rosa's story of struggle, culture shock, and unexpected love is a true page-turner.  I read a lot, and I can't think of a recent read that I enjoyed as much as Sixty Acres and a Bride.

Highly recommended.
